There is two type of Genie probe,
1- The GPRiL
2- The GPR
The difference between the GPRiL/GPiL and The GPR/GP2 is that One can install and remove the HOUSING of the GPRiL when the pipeline is under pressure and this till a pressure of 200 bar, for that one need an Installation Tool TL-3500-SS (see attached documentation "SCC-InstallationTool-PS-1005-SOC.pdf"), while one cannot install and remove the HOUSING of the GPR when the pipeline is under pressure (see attached documentation).
But one can Remove or Install the GPRiL/GPiL and The GPR/GP2 PROBE when the pipe is under pressure, the HOUSING remaining on the pipe line. The two GPRiL/GPiL and The GPR/GP2 have several lengths; if you can measure the dimension L1 (see attached "GPRiL Question Eng.pdf" and "GP GPR Dimensions Eng.pdf" ).
It is very important to well know that housings can be installed and/or removed from the pipeline when it is under pressure, because sometime it is necessary to install housings under pressure for example:
1- When there is no sample take-off on the pipe and one must install one under pressure (HOT TAP) after installation of the sample take-off equipped with a valve, one can install the housing of the GPiL/GPRiL by mean of an installation tool Reference TL-3500-SS-27 (this model for probe from 11" to 27" lengths).
2- When the probe is installed on a section of the pipe where pigs can pass through to clean the pipeline, one must remove the housing of the probe before the pig come, in this case, one will also use the Installation Tool to remove the housing from the pipe.
